Description

Entering Abergorlech Forest parking for the Abergorlech wheelchair walk, you will find 2 small car parks. The first is tarmacked and the second one has 2 portable toilets. Picnic benches can be found at the car parks and we also found another one by the river where the Gorlech cycle trail joins the Gorlech walking trail (0.7 Km) again. This not wheelchair accessible and requires going on foot about 50m with a steep incline at first 3 m long.

From the car park follow the walking route signs. We found the red marked Gorlech cycle track the easiest to spot! You follow this until the track turns hard back on itself to the left (3.2 Km) for your return

We also tried the Riverside Walk which is just after going down the first incline at 0.5 Km. It is marked in yellow and to your left. Having crossed the bridge over the river we only went on for about 150m before meeting a large tree root and it became muddy and difficult due to the sideways slope on the path. It is however very lovely here next to the river Gorlech.

Suitable for

All terrain wheelchair. Power wheelchair / mobility scooters / push chairs / buggies

Additional Information

You can look on google street view to see the walk up to where you turn back on the Gorlech red sign trail. We did not get as far as the 3.2 Km point but checked it out on google street view.

The area is part of the larger Brecha Forest.

There is a pub in the village of Abergorlech, but check opening times as in Winter it is closed Monday to Wednesday.
