Description
Fishguard Marine Walk car park has 12 spaces + 2 disabled with no charges. The beginning of the walk is signposted French Walk opposite the parking and along it there are a few storyboards. This includes the attempted last invasion of the UK. The landing being here in Wales as the French were off course and missed Bristol.
The walk is on tarmac with several up and down gradients. Single benches are along it with one single picnic bench area. The distance for the walk is from the car park to view down over Fishguard harbour having gone up a steep incline. This is the return distance and the beauty of the walk is that you can turn around at any time and enjoy the views on your way back. It is possible to go further on to the main road and then back along it to the car park.
Our wheelchair did not have any problems with the inclines even though it is rated at 20% and the map suggests a 25% incline – see below.
Additional Information
Please note that if you want to go to Goodwick and its harbour there are steps down to it from the car park. You need to go to the lower car parks back via the roundabout.
